Meet the family that is all Hart
John & Kathryn Hart | Owners
John & Kathryn Hart were both born in Pennsylvania and have always felt it was their home. In our married lives, we have also lived in New Jersey, Connecticut, New York City and Sarasota, Florida. We continue to have a home in Sarasota, Florida and a small apartment in New York City but Bucks County and Kindred Hart’s Farm is where we want to have our deepest roots.
John continues to work in banking and wealth management, principally in Sarasota. Kathryn is a former school teacher and continues to be a busy homemaker for Sarasota, New York City, and Bucks County. With her mother in upstate New York and granddaughters in Virginia, she is on a plane often!
In our 40+ years of marriage, we have been involved in many small groups and have built long time friendships there. Many solid friendships also come from our involvement in ministries of various types; pastors, missionaries, counselors, and other not-for-profits, etc.
We are happy you found our website and eager to hear from you!
Colin and Makinsie Hart | Caretakers
Colin and Makinsie have been entrusted with the role of caretakers at Kindred Harts Farm. We manage the day to day operations at the property, and perform much of the maintenance. Colin has been enjoying the opportunity to explore gardening, and greatly enjoys the fruits of his labor, with more veggies and herbs than we can handle! He is also taking an interest in woodland stewardship, investing in the 13 acres of woodlands and marsh we have here on the property.
In addition to taking care of the property, we greatly enjoy taking care of our guests by pursuing the mission of the farm towards its intended goals through hospitality and fellowship. Whether it’s a huge brunch spread, a spirited Bible study, providing a special spot for some individual restoration, or a meaningful one-on-one conversation, we love meeting the needs of those who come to visit.
Both Colin and Mak are also involved in the arts community. Colin is a sound artist who works on many different types of projects within the entertainment industry. He also has interests in photography, woodworking, and cookery. Mak is a more traditional artist, working mostly in oils and acrylics, but she also branches out into woodworking, jewelry, and other crafts. She has a local shop 15 minutes from the farm and often sets up shop at the local art fairs as well.
Come and visit us – we can’t wait to share our joy, fellowship, and blessings with you!
